About the photographer
Michael has loved photographing such memorable moments and still finds joy in creating and bringing happiness to others in this fashion.
Michael photographed his first wedding at age 13 as a favor for his cousin, and the rest, as they say, is history. As a result of his love of photography and the warm accolades he received about his work throughout his life, he decided to turn professional years later. He has studied photography in college and in professional seminars and workshops over the years. He won first prize at the County Fair for "Best Color Print," and he has won several other prizes since that time. Michael has worked professionally as a photographer for several years. As one of California's premiere wedding photographers, his work has been featured in guides, magazines, and in various galleries. He appears in "By Recommendation Only," an invaluable wedding guide. He also has been found in the prestigious planner "Here Comes The Guide."
Michael is proud of an achievement made where his business was the featured vendor on the 1/2 hour TV program titled "The Wedding Show". It was shown in the San Francisco Bay Area with much positive response. He provided answers to many questions brides and grooms are asking about photography.
While Michael's portraits are superb examples of technical photography, he outdoes himself with his candid shots. With a sense of humor and an uncanny sense of timing, Michael captures details can easily be overlooked. For visual proof of his knack, examine the array of photojournalistic and candid photos on his home page.
"Memory is very important, the memory of each photo taken, flowing at
the same speed as the event. During the work, you have to be sure that
you haven't left any holes, that you've
captured everything, because afterwards it will be too late."
Henri Cartier-Bresson, photographer
Michael's work is available in both color and black and white. Before a wedding, Michael consults with his clients to determine the style of photography desired, to plan important shots, and to identify any particular people to be photographed. Michael prides himself on his ability to communicate with his clients and the other professionals involved in his clients' wedding. He quickly puts couples at ease before, and more importantly, during their wedding. On a day of wedding promises and vows, Michael lives by his favorite: "We all promise to have fun!"
Member of Wedding and Portrait Photographer's International for many year, Professional Photographers of various California venues, Organized Photo Workshops in Wedding, Other Photography and Photoshop for the Professional Photographers Association, and the long standing Wedding Photographer's Guild.
Was appointed to the Arts Commission by his local town council for his skills in the area of visual arts, his music background and his experience in working with other artists. He designs cards advertising art shows and has been part of the team which puts on Music in the Park.
